Jack Frost Sport Yarn
White—3 2-oz. Balls; Green—2 2-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 4 Needles and white cast on 81 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3 in. Change to No. 8 Needles increasing to 89 sts. Work even in stockinette st until piece measures 6 in. from lower edge. Work in striped pattern as follows: * 4 rows green, 2 rows white, 4 rows green, 8 rows white; repeat from * twice ending with 4 rows green, 2 rows white, 4 rows green; then complete garment with white. When piece measures 12 ½ in. from lower edge, bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Bind off 5 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows, then 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 4 Needles increasing to 31 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work as given for back until piece measures 5 in. from underarm. Work over 26 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 15 sts for front of neck. On remaining 26 sts, work 2 rows even, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 5 sts every other row 3 times. Bind off remaining 6 sts. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 4 Needles and white on right side of garment, pick up 71 sts from end to end of neckband. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows. Bind off. Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: With No. 8 Needles and green cast on 65 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 4 rows. Change to white and continue ribbing for 2 rows. Change to green and continue ribbing for 4 rows. Change to white and work in stockinette st for 8 rows. Continue working in stockinette st striped pattern until piece measures 4½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 5 times, then 1 st at each end every 3rd row 3 times. At this point you should have completed the last group of stripes. Continuing with white, work 4 rows even, then bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row until 9 sts remain. Bind off remaining sts.

Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
