MATERIALS REQUIRED—American Thread Company "Dawn" Knitting Worsted.
5 2-oz. Skeins, White or Colors.
1 Pair Bone Knitting Needles No. 8.
Measurements of Finished Garment.
Width across back 15 inches. Length of back from Neck to lower edge 21 inches.
BACK. Cast on 80 sts and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 3 inches then continue in stockinette stitch (K 1 row, P 1 row) for 11 inches ending with K row.
Next Row—K 8, P to within the last 8 sts, K 8, K 1 row. Repeat the last 2 rows for 7 inches.
Next 8 Rows—K across row.
Next Row—K 8 then P 1, K 1 for 11 sts, K 8, bind off 26 sts for neck and continue on other shoulder as follows.
1st Row—K 8, P 1, K 1 for 11 sts, K 8.
2nd Row—K across row. Repeat the last 2 rows 6 times, break yarn and attach at neck edge of other shoulder.
1st Row—K across row.
2nd Row—K 8, P 1, K 1, for 11 sts, K 8. Repeat the last 2 rows 6 times.
Cast on 26 sts for neck and K 8, P 1, K 1 for 11 sts, K 8. Work 4 ridges or 8 rows and continue front same as back.
Bind off loosely. Sew seams and crochet a row of s c around neck.
The sweater will be equally attractive made of "Dawn" Germantown Wool.
