MATERIALS: Chadwick's Red Heart Baby Wool, 7 balls (1 oz. balls).
Milward's Phantom Knitting Pins, 1 pair No. 2 (2¾ mm. size).
Cast on 229 sts loosely (cast on over both needles; then draw out 1 needle, leaving sts on 2nd needle). 1st row: K 4, * (O, k 1) 5 times; O, k 4. Repeat from * across. 2nd row: P 4, * k 11, p 4. Repeat from * across. 3rd row: K 4, * p 11, k 4. Repeat from * across. 4th row: P 2, * p 2 tog., p 11, p 2 tog. Repeat from * across, ending with p 2. 5th row: K 2, * k 2 tog., k 9, k 2 tog. Repeat from * across, ending with k 2. 6th row: P 2, * p 2 tog., p 7, p 2 tog. Repeat from * across, ending with p 2. 7th row: P 4, * (O, k 1) 5 times, O, p 4. Repeat from * across. The 3rd to 7th rows incl. constitute the pattern. Repeat pattern until piece measures 30 inches, ending with 6th row of pattern. Bind off. Block to measure 40 x 40 inches.
