4 1-oz. Balls 3-ply Fingering Yarn
1 Pr. Size 1 Standard Knitting Needles
1 Pr. Size 3 Standard Knitting Needles
Gauge: 7 sts to 1 in.
Back: With size 3 needles cast on 73 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 12 rows. Work even in stockinette st until piece measures 7½ in. or desired length to underarm. Bind off 5 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; work even until piece measures 3½ in. from underarm. Bind off 10 sts at beginning of each of next 4 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 1 needles increasing to 27 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows. Bind off.
Front: Work as given for back until piece measures 2½ in. from underarm. Work over 24 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 15 sts for front of neck. On remaining 24 sts, work 2 rows even, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 4 times. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 10 sts every other row 2 times. Work other side to correspond.
Front Neckband: With size 1 needles on right side of garment, pick up 57 sts across neck edge. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows. Bind off. Sew shoulder seams, leaving 2 in. free at neck edge.
Sleeves: Work as given for Cardigan Pattern.
Sew underarms and sleeve seams.
Work 1 row of s c around neck opening, working 2 loops for buttonholes on front edge.
