BERNAT SUPER ANGORA (10 gram balls) — 3
1 pair each straight knitting needles Nos. 8 and 11 (Canadian Needles Nos. 6 and 1)
OR ANY SIZE NEEDLES THAT WILL GIVE THE STITCH GAUGE GIVEN BELOW
GAUGE: 3 sts = 1 inch; 4 rows = 1 inch
Using smaller needles, cast on 72 sts. K 2, P 2 in ribbing for 7 rows. Change to larger needles and work in stockinette st until piece measures 6 inches, ending with a P row. SHAPE TOP: Row 1: * K 4, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row — 12 sts decreased. Row 2 and all even rows: Purl. Row 3: * K 3, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row — 48 sts. Continue in this manner to dec 12 sts every other row, having 1 st less between decreases on each dec row, until 12 sts remain. Break off yarn, leaving a 12 inch end. Pull through remaining 12 sts and draw up tightly. Sew back seam.
