Cast on 187 sts and work in following pattern until stole measures 14".
Row 1: K1, * sl 1, K3, sl 1, P5 *; repeat from * to * across, ending with sl 1, K3, sl 1 and sl last st as if to P.
Row 2: K1, * P5, sl 1, K3, sl 1 *; repeat from * to * across, ending with P 5 and sl last st as if to P.
Then Dec as follows: First Row: K1, * sl 1, K3, sl 1, P2 tog, P1, P2 tog *; repeat from * to * across, ending with sl 1, K3, sl 1 and sl last st as if to P. Second Row: K1, * P2 tog, P1, P2 tog, sl 1, K 1, sl 1 *; repeat from * to * across row, ending with P2 tog, P1, P2 tog, sl last st as if to P. Third Row: K1, * sl 1, K1, sl 1, P3 *; repeat from * to * across, ending with sl 1, K1, sl 1 and sl last st as if to P. Fourth Row: K1, * P3, sl 1, K1, sl 1 *; repeat from * to * across, ending with P3, sl last st as if to P. Repeat the 3rd and 4th rows until piece measures approx. 46 ins. from beg. Then inc. as follows: Next Row: K1, * sl 1, inc. in next st by K1, P1, K1, & Sl next st, P3 *; repeat from * to * across, ending with sl 1, inc in next st by K1, P1, K1 & Sl next st; sl last st as if to P. Next Row: K1, * P5, sl 1, inc in next st same way as in previous row & sl 1 *; repeat from * to * across, ending with P5, sl last st as if to P. Then work even in Pat St as directed in Rows 1 and 2 at the beg of stole for 14 ins. Bind off. Do not block.
