MATERIALS:
CHADWICK'S RED HEART BABY BUNT­ING, 4 balls (¾ oz. balls) for each size.
Clark's O.N.T. Knitting Pins, 1 pair No. 1 and 1 pair No. 3.
4 small buttons.
4 snap fasteners.
5 yards of contrasting color yarn for em­broidery.
GAUGE: 7 sts make 1 inch; 9 rows make 1 inch.

FRONT … Starting at the crotch with No. 3 needles, cast on 11 sts. Work in stockinette st (k 1 row, p 1 row), casting on 3 sts at end of each row until there are 59 sts, then cast on 2 sts at end of each row until there are on needle

Change to No. 1 needles and knit, de­creasing 11 sts evenly across row to

To shape neck, knit across

Bind off the next 24 sts loosely for front of neck and finish row. Turn and work over the last set of sts only in garter st for 1 inch. Bind off. Attach yarn to sts of other shoulder and work to correspond.
BACK … Same as Front, omitting neck shaping.
SLEEVES … Starting at bottom, with No. 1 needles cast on

Work in ribbing of k 2, p 2, for 8 rows. Change to No. 3 needles and k 1 row, increasing to

Work in stockinette st for 2 inches. To shape top, bind off 5 sts at the begin­ning of the next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at end of each row until 23 sts remain. Bind off.
LEG BANDS … Sew side seams. Us­ing No. 1 needles, with right side facing and starting at end of crotch, pick up along leg opening

Work in ribbing of k 2, p 2, for 8 rows. Bind off loosely in ribbing.
FINISHING … Work 2 rows of sc along ends of crotch, including ends of leg band. Sew snap fasteners at crotch. Starting at shoulder edge, sew shoulder seams for 1 inch. Work a row of sc around neck opening, making 2 ch-2 buttonloops on each front shoulder. Sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves. Sew on buttons.
   With contrasting color yarn, embroider dog with duplicate stitch, following chart. With main color, embroider collar and eye with chain stitch, as in illus­tration.
